"She is brilliant, insightful and competent, and continues to expand her knowledge of Oriental Medicine"
When I was fifty years old, I quit my job and moved to Gainesville, Florida, to enter acupuncture school. Everyone thought I was crazy, because I was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease (myasthenia gravis) that causes progressive muscle weakness and this disease is exacerbated by stress and illness. The program I was entering is a very demanding program, and most people thought I was jeopardizing my health. I had trouble opening my right eye, swallowing, speaking, and often with breathing. I was very medicated for this disease.
I quickly aligned myself with Allyson Lange at our school clinic, and I saw Allyson regularly throughout my 3-1/2 year school career. At the beginning, I had some relapses that Allyson helped me manage, but over the course of the program, the relapses came less often and became milder. Eventually, I was able to completely stop my medication, and I have had no reason to need it in over two years. In all honesty, I will say with no doubt that I finished school in much better health than I was in when I started school, and I owe this to Allyson.
Not only did Allyson help me with the myasthenia gravis, but she helped me deal with the stress of school and an ailing parent, shoulder pain, neck pain, kidney stones, and eczema. I think it is important to emphasize that she helped me through menopause - I sailed through menopause without the usual hot flashes or night sweats or mood swings. I cannot sing Allyson’s praises loudly enough. She is brilliant, insightful and competent, and continues to expand her knowledge of Oriental medicine by teaching classes at Dragon Rises and attending professional growth seminars. She is very caring and has an outstanding needle technique. She is also very knowledgable about herbal medicine.
And last but not least, she is very easy and fun to be around and makes me laugh, which for me, is very therapeutic in itself.
